After Covent Garden, I headed back to my hotel as I was sooo tired and had bought some stuff and was struggling to carry it along with my tripod and handbag. I was going to order food in but changed my mind when I ran across Guanabana on my search page. Words cannot describe this place! It’s a great ambiance and the staff make you feel like you’re at home. For those wondering what they specialise in, its Caribbean food and I must say this was my first time trying carribean food and I absolutely loved! I ordered: 1) goat curry with rice, red beans, plantains and greens 2) adobo wings
****

I had never tried plantains before and they were so darn GOOD; the sweetness of the plantains with the spicy savoury taste of the stew was like a flavour explosion in my mouth 😋😋😋
The hostess, Sara, was really welcoming and lovely. I told her how delicious and greatly seasoned the food was and she got the manager, jasmine, and the chef to come to my table and thank me for the encouraging words!
I thought that was a very lovely gesture ♥️
If I’m honest I wasn’t that excited to go when I found out the restaurant was in Camden, as I was afraid of the horror stories I had heard about it online. But by that point I had already made my reservation, and decided to just drink some courage juice and head over there and I really don’t regret it and am delighted that I did 🙏🏻 the portions were also very good and the price was reasonable.
